About the Network
The Happiness and Wellbeing Network aims to provide a forum for sharing and developing ideas in order to contribute to the improvement of mental health, happiness and wellbeing in the northeast.
The Happiness and Wellbeing Network hosts meetings and events, and produces communications and publications.
Objectives
- To establish an informal community of persons and partners interested in mental health, happiness and wellbeing;
- To share expertise and develop ideas on how to promote happiness and wellbeing locally;
- To improve communication and cooperation between providers of services for mental health and/or wellbeing;
- To encourage and support members and other citizens in improving their own and other persons mental health, happiness and wellbeing.
There are now three groups: South Shields, Gateshead and Sunderland. Regular meetings and events are held and any one interested or involved in mental health, happiness and wellbeing are welcome to attend. Meetings are informal and free.
Membership
Any person can become a member of Happiness and Wellbeing Network. The Happiness and Wellbeing Network is specifically looking for members from community organisations, voluntary organisations, the council, PCT Public Health and Mental Health Services. Members are required to provide their name and contact details here. Membership is free.
Happiness and Wellbeing Network will support a limited number of external members, i.e. representatives of organisations outside South Tyneside.
Presentations and events are open to the public and provide a forum for sharing and developing ideas to contribute to the improvement of mental health, happiness and wellbeing.
